As
promised, here are three items that Torch members might enjoy reading as a
follow-up to my presentation on Northeast Wisconsin Logging History:
1.
A copy
of the diary excerpt from the Holt family papers that details Minne May
Rumsey’s experience going to the Holt Lumber camps in February 1903 with her
brother-in-law, Holt Lumber President, William Arthur Holt.
2.
A copy
of a 1955 Green Bay Press Gazette article that highlighted the experiences of a
man who worked for all the major Oconto area lumber companies during his career
as a logger.
3.
A well
written journal article by Rande Rohe, a retired UW Colleges system geography
professor, about logging history in Northeastern Wisconsin.
